Origins
The Lyoki cat is basically the local shorthair cat that underwent a spontaneous mutation, giving our feline friend its distinctive look. As a matter of fact, common domestic cats carry the so-called Lykoi gene. Due to the recessive nature of this gene, both parent cats are required for Lykoi kitten pups to have the signature characteristics.
The history of the breed began in 2010 when Johnny Gobble who has been raising plants and animals since he was 15 found these cats. He usually breeds Sphynx cats among other things; when he discovered two special looking kittens he was quite surprised. Genetic and health tests were then carried out to find out whether the kittens' odd appearance was caused by a disease. It turned out that the appearance of the cats is due to a natural mutation.
As the initial discoverer of the breed, Patti Thomas gave the cats the name "Lykoi" in reference to their physical appearance. Patti entrusted the cats to Brittney and Johnny Gobble, a Tennessee veterinarian. A few months later, a second couple was spotted, adopted by Brittney and Johnny Gobble. Unique all the way
The breeders could ascertain that the fur alterations are the result of a mutation and not illness, so they continued to breed these to maintain the unique look through generations. The Werewolf Cat

What do they eat?
