No hyperbole this is the best cat toy I’ve ever purchased

I am not even joking when I say that this toy is my cat Antares’ favorite toy in the entire world. And as a cat who, alongside his brother has an entire toy box full of toys, that’s saying something that he keeps returning to this toy day after day. I recommend this cat toy to every other new owner of a cat with piles of hunting instinct.

I will admit, he likes it better off of the stick than on and he loves a good stick toy, but that doesn’t diminish how good of a toy this is.

He’s had it for about eleven months now, and he drags it all over the house, as shown in the video above, he even has us drape it over his shoulders and he carries it room to room like a little kid with a security, or carries it around in his mouth as pictured. It’s hard to get a good picture of him with it even as a professional photographer on my phone, and I think I’m going to have to bust out my real camera, because anytime he’s playing with it he’s rolling around, wrestling, kicking it, and beating it up. His absolute favorite game with it is playing fetch. I think it scratches a lot of itches for cats because it’s crinkly, but not too loud, it’s long and easy to play with, has semi realistic features, and also is fun to chase or fetch for them.

He enjoys this toy so much we bought him a backup about three months ago which we rotate in and out in case the first snake ever falls apart. That doesn’t seem to be a worry, it just looks like a very well loved stuffed animal so far that crinkles a lot less than “Backup snake”. (We call first snake “Snake” and the backup “Backup Snake” as he can kind of tell the difference and all of their toys have names.)

A safety notes:

Sewing quality: I have had to sew up so many of my boys toys since I got them last year that are well loved, and Snake is not one of them. The eyes are really securely sewn down. I’m just now, after eleven months of daily abuse to Snake, while really tugging on them in a way my cats wouldn’t, seeing a stress point that I will repair to future proof, but nothing like other toys that have split open from being chewed on. There’s been no other seam splits, and no other major issues.

Shedding: this toy doesn’t really shed. I give it a really good lint roll every week because he drags it everywhere in the world.

Plastic cap: If you do remove it from the stick permanently like I did, the small plastic connector that some might worry about becoming a choking hazard is easy to snip off or unite the end from the string and slide it off, but gives you enough room to still tie the snake back onto the stick at a later date if you wanted.

Feathers: Antares REALLY likes pulling the feathers off of toys. To the point of vomiting from excitement when I gave him a toy covered in feathers that he could rip off before he even touched the toy, haha. Snake has not had any for months now, and I watched backup snake just loose the last of his feathers the other day, meaning he had been trying at it for some time. I don’t really stress about the feathers getting pulled off, as he just enjoys ripping them off, and won’t eat them, but if your cat will do so, they’re pretty easy to take off ahead of time, and is worth doing so for the play value.

It’s all things cats love: snakes, feathers, and crinkle sounds! My cats love it!

My cat’s favorite toy

My cat LOVES this snake. The entire snake is filled with a crinkle material and so he loves pouncing on it to hear the sounds. It is a very soft material and solid quality.

Kittens are very curious at first, and they will play with them after a while
