I got this because it was cute and had a great deal but that doesn't matter when it's useless, for an inclosed bed at least. I knew I would have issues as soon as I took the pieces out of the vacuum sealed bags. The top or mushroom cap is extremely heavy compared to the bottom of the bed. I fluffed them regularly as I had both pieces sitting out in my walk in closet and as I saw how flimsy the bottom was I cut some cardboard out and lined the inside of the bottom in hopes it would help it hold shape as it was having time to expand. It still hasn't expanded to the point it could even come close to holding the top on. I shouldn't have to line the bottom with cardboard just try and make it stronger because it makes it crappy for my cat especially since it is brand new so it should work. You can see in the photo that even my smallest cat can't even get in the door!! I actually got it for my big boy whom is a ragdoll so he is pretty huge but he wants no part of it because he can't get in it. Then a little off subject a little for this review but I finally bought King Louis XIV the big super adorable spaceship tree and I got everything out of two boxes and I couldn't believe it but it was missing literally one single part!!! For reference it is part i and I have reached out twice once by email then followed up with a call and I still have the damn box waiting to hear if I need to just send it back so I can have the complete tree resent for my big boy.

It’s so cute and fluffy! I love it but the top is too heavy for the base and won’t stay up. Is there anyway I can keep it up? I might have to alter it to get it to stand

Sadly, this mushroom bed was a big disappointment. It came squashed into a small box, so the foam sides were out of shape badly. They’ve yet to regain their shape, too, and the red top is heavy enough that it bows the sides out and pushes down on the opening, making it only about big enough for a kitten. I even went to the extreme of sewing dowel rods in four places on the inside, but it still squats under the weight of the red cap. My cats are grown and have yet to go inside. It’s very soft; I hoped they’d eventually give it a try, but so far no go. I’m disappointed that it didn’t end up looking anything like the picture on the website.
